01What cookies are, and what we use instead
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser to recognise you on your next visit. Browsers also offer “session storage”: a place the website reads only locally on your device, which is never sent to a server and which your browser empties when you close the tab. We use only this session storage.
02What this website stores
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
ae-seen | Notes that the opening animation has already been shown in this tab, so it does not run again on every page. | Session storage, strictly necessary, never transmitted to us. | Until you close the tab. |
ae-nav | Notes, when you click a link on this website, that the next page starts with the short transition; deleted again as soon as that page loads. | Session storage, strictly necessary, never transmitted to us. | Until the next page has loaded. |
The language (German/English) is part of the page address (/de/, /en/) and is not stored. There are no login, analytics, advertising or social-media cookies and no tracking pixels — which is why we need no cookie banner.
03What the server sees
Independently of that, our hosting provider Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address whenever a page is requested, to deliver and protect the website. Details are in the privacy policy.
04External content
Fonts, photos and map data come from our own website. We embed no third-party maps, videos or social-media posts. Links to Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp open those services — only there do the providers set their own cookies under their own rules.
05How you control it
Whatever this website keeps in session storage is deleted by your browser as soon as you close the tab. You can also remove it earlier in your browser settings under “site data” or “clear browsing data”. The website works exactly the same afterwards — it simply shows the opening animation once more.
06If something changes
Should we ever add a statistics tool to see which pages are read, we will update this page first and ask for your consent where the law requires it. Until then: no tracking.
