Day 04Xakanaxa to Magotho
From Xakanaxa, we will continue our journey to Magotho Campground, located 20 km east of Khwai Village, along the main Moremi-Savuti road. Day 06Mwandi to Kasane
The journey from Mwandi View to Kasane is a breathtaking adventure through some of Botswana’s most stunning and wildlife-rich landscapes. As you travel north along the edge of the Chobe National Park, the open savannahs and winding rivers become your companions, offering frequent sightings of elephants, buffalo, and antelope roaming freely. The road itself is smooth and scenic, with occasional stops where you might spot hippos basking near waterholes or vibrant birdlife flitting through the acacia trees. Approaching Kasane, the gateway to four countries, the scenery shifts into lush riverine forests as the mighty Chobe River comes into view—welcoming you to one of Africa’s top wildlife and safari destinations.

Day 07Day Visit to Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls, known locally as “Mosi-oa-Tunya” or “The smoke that thunders,” is one of the most awe-inspiring natural wonders on earth. Straddling the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, this majestic waterfall plunges over 100 meters into the Zambezi Gorge, creating a roaring curtain of mist that can be seen from miles away. As you approach the falls, the ground trembles beneath your feet and the air fills with the refreshing spray of millions of gallons of water crashing down every minute. Whether you’re gazing at the panoramic views from the rainforest trails, soaring above in a helicopter, or daring to swim at the edge in Devil’s Pool, Victoria Falls offers an unforgettable experience that blends raw natural power with breathtaking beauty.

Day 08Kasane to Camp Kwando
Embarking on the journey from Kasane to Camp Kwando in Namibia is a captivating expedition through the heart of southern Africa's wilderness. Departing from Kasane we will cross the Chobe River via the Ngoma Bridge, entering Namibia's Zambezi Region. This area, formerly known as the Caprivi Strip, is renowned for its rich biodiversity and forms part of the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area. The route meanders through verdant floodplains and dense woodlands, offering glimpses of various mammals and a myriad of bird species. Upon reaching Camp Kwando, situated on the banks of the Kwando River, visitors are greeted with serene landscapes and opportunities for boat trips, birdwatching, and cultural excursions to nearby villages.

Day 09Camp Kwando to Ngepi
The drive from Camp Kwando to Ngepi Camp is a scenic journey that winds through one of Namibia’s most lush and wildlife-rich corridors, offering an authentic taste of Africa’s untamed beauty. As you drive, the landscape unfolds with dense woodlands, shimmering floodplains, and the meandering Kwando River, creating a picturesque backdrop for the drive. This route, part of the renowned Caprivi Strip, is not only a visual delight but also a corridor teeming with wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, and bird species. Upon reaching Ngepi Camp, nestled on the banks of the Okavango River, visitors are welcomed into a sanctuary that harmoniously blends rustic charm with innovative design. The camp is famed for its unique amenities, such as a floating swimming cage in the river, allowing for safe dips amidst the natural habitat of hippos and crocodiles.

Day 10Ngepi to Khaudum North
Traveling from Ngepi Camp to Khaudum North takes you on an unforgettable journey through Namibia’s raw and rugged wilderness. Leaving behind the lush banks of the Okavango River, the route gradually transitions into deep, sandy tracks and remote bushveld as you head toward Khaudum National Park. This isolated path is reserved for true adventurers, requiring a sturdy 4x4 and a readiness to embrace the wild. Along the way, you’ll pass through sparsely populated areas, with the chance to spot wildlife roaming freely—elephants, antelope, and even big cats can appear unexpectedly. As you enter Khaudum from the north, the sense of remoteness deepens, with only the sounds of nature surrounding you. The route from Khaudum North to Khaudum South is not just a drive—it’s a true wilderness expedition. This deep-sand track winds through thick Kalahari woodland and open clearings, offering raw, uninterrupted encounters with nature. As you slowly navigate the challenging terrain, every kilometer brings the thrill of possible wildlife sightings: massive elephant herds crossing your path, giraffes browsing in the distance, or lion tracks etched into the sand. The journey between the two campsites can take several hours despite the short distance, due to the deep, ungraded roads and occasional wildlife roadblocks. With no fences, power lines, or human noise, this stretch offers complete immersion in the wild—just you, your vehicle, and the vast silence of the bush. Reaching Khaudum South feels like arriving at a hidden outpost, where the sense of isolation is matched only by the overwhelming beauty of the surrounding landscape.

Day 12Khaudum South to Roy's Rest Camp
The journey from Khaudum South to Roy’s Rest Camp is a dramatic shift from raw wilderness to rustic comfort, taking travelers through the heart of Namibia’s rugged and remote bushlands. As you exit the untamed terrain of Khaudum National Park, the deep sandy tracks slowly give way to gravel roads, revealing changing landscapes of dry savannah, Mopane woodland, and the occasional rural homestead. This route is a chance to reflect on the wild beauty left behind while anticipating the warm welcome ahead. As you approach Roy’s Rest Camp near Grootfontein, the scenery softens, and a sense of comfort sets in. Known for its laid-back charm and unique décor, Roy’s is a perfect place to rest, refuel, and swap stories under the stars.

Day 13Roy’s Rest Camp to Waterberg

Leaving the rustic charm of Roy’s behind, we head southwest through open farmlands, acacia woodlands, and small rural settlements, catching glimpses of wildlife and local life along the way. As the towering red cliffs of Waterberg begin to appear on the horizon, the scenery transforms—lush vegetation, dramatic rock formations, and a cooler, elevated climate signal your arrival at one of Namibia’s most unique natural landmarks. The Waterberg Plateau, rich in history and biodiversity, offers not only breathtaking views but also opportunities for hiking or wildlife spotting.

Day 14Waterberg to Windhoek
The drive from Waterberg to Windhoek is a smooth and scenic descent from the towering plateau back into the heart of Namibia’s capital. As you leave the dramatic cliffs and green woodlands of Waterberg behind, the road winds through rolling savannahs, cattle farms, and scattered acacia trees—offering a peaceful and reflective end to your journey. Along the way, you might spot warthogs trotting across the road or see antelopes grazing in the distance. The closer you get to Windhoek, the more the landscape begins to blend rural charm with hints of urban life. After just over three hours on the road, the city skyline welcomes you back with its mix of modern buildings and mountain backdrops— marking the end of our journey.
